Hi, I'm Cherie
I have been photographing actors and models in NYC for over a decade.
I am also an actor! After graduating from the Two-Year Meisner Program at William Esper Studio, I started taking head shots of my classmates. It was an incredible feeling to know that my peers were walking away with images that opened doors and led them to booking work.
As an actor, I understand that headshots are our #1 marketing material. I struggled for years to get a bookable headshot. What I learned over time is that a good headshot must do two things. It must first allow your personality to shine through, and second it has to look like you.
My goal is to help you capture authentic headshots in a fun, safe, and collaborative environment.
One of the best parts of my job is getting to meet new people and create images that are both emotionally and visually compelling - headshots that tell a story.
At the end of the day, all that matters is that you walk away with images that you and your reps will love.
Meet Jimmy!
Jimmy is a native New Yorker whose love for photography started at the age of 16. After graduating from the renowned High School of Art and Design, he began his career photographing fashion models and later weddings.
His attention to detail and extensive experience helps with the many technical and structural light set ups for every shoot.
His passion for photography is what has kept Mendez Photography going for 20 years.
Our Process....
For Actors: Whether you are new to the business or a seasoned professional, I will start with an in person meeting or zoom call so I can get to know you, discuss your goals and the possible roles/looks you will need for the session.
I will then send you a detailed wardrobe guide that will help take any of the guesswork out of what clothing to bring to the shoot. Based on the direction you and your reps would like to take we will collaborate on looks that are current and relevant for roles casting in today's film and television shows.
For Creative Professionals: We will team up with you to create an entire gallery of custom, consistent images to use throughout your website, social media, and marketing platforms that reflect your authentic voice and elevate your brand. Once you inquire with us, we will chat about your business goals in person or via zoom. You will then receive a detailed questionnaire for you to define your brand personality and vision for the shoot. We will capture branded images including headshots, your workspace, styled photos of props, tools of your trade, and any other fun ideas.
Gallery Delivery:
Your images will be delivered through an on-line gallery. You will receive a link to your proofs so you can easily view all the photos from your session and mark your favorites to narrow down your choices. You will be able to down load, use and keep all images. We offer 2-4 complimentary retouched photos depending on the package you choose. We also format both for web use and printing.
